Toy Story 3
Maybe I should make this post tomorrow with a night behind. But no, I do now, just arrived from the cinema.
I say now, "Toy Story 3 is a masterpiece. And it is, IMHO, the best Pixar film so far (even surpassing Wall-E and UP, although not by much, the comparison is hard).
To prepare the vision I saw myself back-to-back first two Wednesday night, and I must say that I was a little 'disappointed. Removed the initial surprise that the screenplay of the first is Joss Whedon (and I every time I read that name I do not understand anything), see each other now I found them no doubt still fresh and fun, but very childish and ends in themselves. Among other things, the second chapter, while introducing a couple of important people, your face has the word "later done for commercial purposes."
When we started to talk about the third chapter I was pretty discouraged, but huge fan of Pixar's work I hoped for the best. The releases were enthusiastic reviews, but I usually stopped to hear the opinion of the critics.
So I put in the room and put on my glasses.
The short, Day & Night, worth the extra cost of the ticket. A game between 3D and 2D mixed media (that has meaning only seen in 3D), conceived and developed with a dazzling technique, with a few as alienating effect. I still think the best short film Lifted Pixar, but this should be right behind him.
Then the film starts. What to say? The animation technique, the direction, the pace in the films Pixar has made great strides, the 3D is used very intelligently (not essential, but not useless). In an hour and a half hours this film dissects all possible emotions in the viewer, is funny, moving, very dramatic in some scenes, terrifying in others. Defining children's movies Pixar movies is now an insult. Useless list all the good things in the film, it makes no sense. But listen to an idiot, well you spend your money and go to the cinema to see it in 3D. You will not regret at all. I'm not so thrilled by the final series of Lost.
Pixar, thanks for existing.
